Email lampandleaf@mail.grokbot.com. We aim to reply within 3 working days. If a table didn't come out right, the "Table didn't work?" link in the panel starts an email with the page address filled in, and you send it yourself.

Getting started

  1. Pin the extension: click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, then the pin next to TableFerry.
  2. Open a page with a table and click the TableFerry icon, press Alt+Shift+T, or right-click and choose Select & copy this table.
  3. Click a cell. Shift-click to extend, ctrl/cmd-click to add or remove cells, drag across a block, or click a column header for the whole column. The panel shows Sum, Average, Count, Min, Max, Median and Unique as you go.
  4. Press Ctrl/Cmd+C or Copy and paste into Google Sheets or Excel. Choose CSV, Markdown or HTML from the "as" list, or download CSV, Excel or JSON.

Common questions

It asked "UK or US dates?"

When every date in a column could be read either way (03/04/2026 is 3 April in the UK and March 4 in the US), TableFerry asks once per website and remembers. Change it with the "Change" link in the panel, or clear it on the options page.

Why are some values kept as text?

Excel turns 4/9 into 4 September, drops the zero from 00123 and rounds 16-digit references. TableFerry marks those values as text in what it copies and saves, so they arrive exactly as they look on the page.

The Google Sheets formula says "Google Sheets can't see this table"

Google Sheets reads a page as an anonymous visitor and doesn't run the page's JavaScript. If the table is drawn by JavaScript, or only appears when you're signed in, Sheets can't see it. Use Copy instead. Even when TableFerry finds the table, the formula can fail if the website blocks Google, so it's labelled best effort.

What are tidy rows?

Tables with months or years across the top are hard to pivot. Open Tidy rows, tick the columns that identify each row (such as Region), and press Use tidy rows. Every other column becomes its own row, with an Attribute column (for example the month, as a real date) and a Value column.

It says "No tables found"

TableFerry reads HTML tables and accessible (ARIA) grids. It can't read charts, pictures of tables, tables drawn on a canvas, or tables inside an embedded frame from another site.

The icon shows a red "!"

Chrome doesn't let extensions run on its own pages (chrome://), on the Chrome Web Store, or in its built-in PDF viewer.

I only got some of the rows

Some data grids only load the rows you've scrolled to. TableFerry warns you when it can tell. Scroll through the grid first, or use multi-page capture if the site has pages.

Changing the keyboard shortcut

Open the options page (right-click the icon, then Options) and press Change shortcut, or go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
