Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy covers the TableFerry browser extension ("the extension"), published by LampAndLeaf ("we"). Contact: lampandleaf@mail.grokbot.com.
The short version
TableFerry is free and works inside your browser. We do not collect, receive or store the pages you visit, the tables or cells you copy, your browsing history, or any usage analytics. There are no accounts, no payments and no tracking.
What the extension reads, and when
- It reads a web page only when you open it on that tab: by clicking its toolbar icon, pressing its keyboard shortcut, or choosing it from the right-click menu. Chrome then gives it access to that one tab only (the "activeTab" permission). It has no access to any other site.
- It finds the tables on that page and reads the one you choose, so it can highlight the cells you select, add up numbers, show a preview, and copy or save the result.
- All of that happens on your device. Table contents go only where you send them: your clipboard, or a file saved on your computer.
The one network request: the Google Sheets formula check
If you press Live Google Sheets formula, the extension loads the page you are on one more time, from the same website, so it can see what Google Sheets will see. That request:
- goes only to the website you are already on (the same address, minus anything after a #);
- is sent without your cookies or logins, so the site sees an anonymous visitor, just like Google Sheets does;
- is read on your device and then discarded. Nothing about it is sent to us or to anyone else.
The formula itself is something you paste into Google Sheets yourself. When you do, Google fetches that page under Google's own privacy policy. The extension never talks to Google.
What is stored on your device
- Your settings, any presets you save, and your answer to "UK or US dates?" for each website where you were asked (the website's name and dd/mm or mm/dd). You can see and clear these on the options page.
- If you use multi-page capture or combine tables, the captured rows are kept in Chrome's temporary session storage until you clear them, close the tab (captures) or close the browser.
None of this is sent to us. Removing the extension deletes it.
What we don't do
- No analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or fingerprinting.
- No remote code: everything the extension runs is in the package you install.
- We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, use it for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
The use of information received by the extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Links in the extension
"Table didn't work?" opens a new email in your own email program with only the page address filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself.
Your rights
We hold no personal data from the extension. If you email us, we keep that email only as long as we need it to reply. If you are in the UK or EU you can ask us for a copy of it or ask us to delete it: lampandleaf@mail.grokbot.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we ever change what data the extension handles, we will update this page and say so in the extension before the change takes effect.
